Privacy via IT Security: Innovating Mobile Apps – An app development competition within the MAPPING project

Being involved in the EU FP7 research project „MAPPING„, the Institute for Legal Informatics of Leibniz University Hanover is currently organising a competition for developing an app under the title „Privacy via IT Security: Innovating Mobile Apps“. The competition addresses the need of society to face new threats and exposure of their personal data, through innovative IT security tools, which enhance integrity, authenticity and confidentiality of personal data in mobile and online environments.
The call for submitting proposal value propositions was open from 1 December to 31 December 2015. A considerable number of highly innovative proposals have been submitted from participants in many countries throughout Europe. Currently, the participants are developing the applications in order to prepare their final submission. The jury will then decide upon the three winners, who will be awarded with a one week stand at Scale11, CeBIT 2016. In addition, the first winner will receive 20.000 €. The award ceremony will take place on Monday, 14 March 2016, 11 a.m. at Scale11 main stage on CeBIT 2016.
