Online Privacy: Consenting to your Future – Conference on Online Privacy on Malta

The Consent Project – an FP 7-project on privacy issues and consumer behavior in social networks, hosts an international conference dedicated to recent privacy issues on Malta on March 20-21.

The agenda reads like „Who is Who“ on data protection in Europe: Among the speakers are Peer J. Hustinx, European Data Protection Supervisor, Commissioner Vivian Reding, and the Polish Data Protection Supervisor, Wojciech Rafał Wiewiórowski. Johannes Caspar, Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information for Hamburg, Germany, participates in a panel discussion, Max Schrems (Europe vs. Facebook) is scheduled to give a presentation as well.

The Conference Committee is chaired by Joseph A. Cannataci who is also Consent’s Scientific Coordinator.

IRI is represented by Christian Hawellek and Nikolaus Forgó who will give an overview on some of the project’s results on „Consent and Social Networks“.
